Cal Thomas: An armed hero

Monday, March 31st, 2008

I have been waiting for this to happen. For years we have witnessed the carnage when innocents were mowed down at schools, colleges, shopping malls and post offices. The unarmed (disarmed?) were easy targets for crazed gunmen armed with grievances, weapons and ammunition. Now someone has shot back, probably saving many lives.

Urgent Call To Action: SB-1130 To Be Heard By Florida Senate Any Day!

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Senate Bill 1130 by Senator Durell Peaden (R-Crestview) will be heard on the SENATE FLOOR SOON! For three years we have fought corporate giants and big business bullies. They want ban firearms and prohibit you from parking in publicly accessible parking lots if you have a firearm locked in your car or truck for protection while traveling to and from shopping, work, or where ever your daily routine takes you. This is a WAR for your safety and your firearms freedom. Your right to have a firearm in your locked car or truck when you park in a publicly accessible parking lot is on the line. Whether your firearm rights live or die is NOW up to the Senate. The bill protects your right to have a firearm locked in your vehicle for self-defense and other lawful purposes when it is parked in a publicly accessible business parking lot. It is time to start sending email to ALL members of the Florida Senate to let them know how important this bill is to law-abiding gun owners who carry firearms in their vehicles for protection and other lawful purposes.

Lawful Firearm Dealers Under Attack in New York!

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Anti-gun State Senator, Eric Schneiderman (D-31), is up to his usual tricks. He has filed a petition to discharge Senate Bill 2404 from the Senate Codes Committee. This legislation was designed with the intent of forcing law-abiding federally licensed firearms dealers out of business by requiring them to comply with a host of unnecessary bureaucratic reporting and sales requirements. SB2404 would require redundant reporting requirements already required by federal law, would mandate that all inventory be locked up in a safe when the store is closed (simply locking the building would not qualify), and would require all dealers to obtain exorbitant insurance policies to cover against any criminal activity that could occur after a firearm is legally sold. Please contact your State Senator TODAY at (518) 455-2800 and respectfully urge him or her to oppose SB2404 and any effort to allow this bill to bypass the committee process.
